Scripture makes a staggering claim: that we can actually have the mind of Christ. Not merely admire Him from a distance, but think, see, and desire the way He does. So how do we get such a thing? And once we have it, how do we start living aligned with it? The Bible answers plainly, and the answer is not self-improvement.
The Claim of Scripture
It is one of the boldest promises in the New Testament. Paul writes, "For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16). And he commands, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). Put those together and you have both the gift and the goal: the mind of Christ is given to us, and we are called to let it govern how we live.
The "mind" here is not just the intellect. When Paul says "Let this mind be in you," the Greek verb is phroneo, to set your mind, to have a whole outlook and attitude, not merely to hold a thought. From Gift to Growth
Having the Spirit is the beginning, not the finish. A believer still carries old patterns of thought, and those must be steadily replaced. This is the daily work Paul describes:

And this is never finished in this life. The renewing is continual, not a single event we complete and leave behind. Paul writes it in the ongoing tense, "be ye transformed," and says plainly that "the inward man is renewed day by day" (2 Corinthians 4:16), and that we are "changed into the same image from glory to glory" (2 Corinthians 3:18). We never arrive; even Paul said, "I count not myself to have apprehended... I press toward the mark" (Philippians 3:13–14). So we keep on renewing, and keep on growing, as long as we live, always being made a little more like Him.
What It Actually Looks Like
When Paul said "Let this mind be in you," he immediately showed us its shape, and it is not what the world calls a great mind. The mind of Christ is humble, self-giving, and obedient:

Staying Aligned, Day by Day

Guard the gates, hide the Word, refuse the thoughts that exalt themselves against God, and set your gaze upward, and you will find your mind settling, more and more, into His.
Where It Lands
Gather the whole study into one line: the mind of Christ is not achieved, it is received, and then renewed. It does not come from trying harder to think positive thoughts or from stacking up religious information. It comes because Christ, by His Spirit, comes to live in you, and then patiently reshapes your thinking through His Word.
This is why the new birth matters so deeply, and why it is more than a formality. When you repent, are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and are filled with His Spirit (Acts 2:38), you are not merely joining a religion; you are receiving the very Spirit, and therefore the very mind, of Christ into your being. That is the doorway. Everything else, the renewed thinking, the humility, the peace, the victory over the flesh, flows out of Him actually dwelling in you. So if you long to think like Jesus, do not start with a self-help program. Start where Scripture starts: get filled with His Spirit, then feed on His Word, and let the mind that is now in you take over the mind you were born with.
For You
If you have never been born of the Spirit, that is your first and most important step; the whole thing depends on it. Come to Jesus in repentance, be baptized in His name, and receive His Holy Spirit, and the mind of Christ will be yours to grow into.
If His Spirit already lives in you, then your part is to yield. Open the Word every day and let it wash your thinking. When a thought rises up that is proud, anxious, bitter, or unclean, bring it captive to Christ instead of feeding it. Choose the low place, the servant's place, on purpose. Set your mind on things above. Do this, not to earn anything, but because the mind of Christ is already in you, waiting to be let loose over every corner of your life.
