What Does the Bible Say About the Name of Jesus?

Acts 4:12 NKJV

""Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.""

Peter declares before the Sanhedrin that salvation exists in no other name. Not a title. Not a formula. The name of Jesus is the only name by which anyone is saved.

Colossians 2:9 NKJV

"For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

All the fullness of the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, dwells in Jesus Christ. He is not a portion of God. He is the complete expression of God in human form.

Philippians 2:9-11 NKJV

"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

God gave Jesus "the name which is above every name." Not a name alongside other names, the name above all. Every knee will bow at that name.

Matthew 28:19 NKJV

""Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.""

Jesus says "the name", one name for three titles. The Apostles immediately fulfilled this command by baptizing in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5). Jesus is the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
